Terms of Service

Plotted plots geopolitical news events on an interactive map and provides AI-generated summaries of publicly available news coverage for each event, along with links to original source articles.

Plotted is currently in beta. Features, pricing, usage limits, and the free/Pro tier boundaries described on our pricing page are subject to change as we learn from real usage — including enabling limits that are not currently enforced. We'll do our best to communicate material changes, but the Service is provided on an evolving, as-available basis during this period.

Event summaries, consequence analysis, and neutrality framing on Plotted are generated by AI models based on publicly available news articles. AI-generated summaries can be incomplete, out of date, or contain errors, and should not be treated as a substitute for the original reporting linked in each event. Do not rely on Plotted as the sole source for decisions involving safety, travel, legal, financial, or other high-stakes matters — always verify against primary sources.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Plotted.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
• Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Plotted offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" tier billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before renewal.
• You can cancel anytime from the billing portal linked in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion.
• We may change our pricing going forward; we'll give you reasonable notice before a price change affects your active subscription.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-extract, or systematically reproduce Plotted's data or summaries outside normal use of the Service.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, paywalls, or access controls.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure or security.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, mislead, or misrepresent the origin of content pulled from Plotted.
• Resell or redistribute Plotted's summaries or data as your own without attribution.

Plotted's branding, interface, and AI-generated summaries are owned by Plotted or its licensors. Underlying news content belongs to the original publishers we link to — we don't claim ownership over third-party articles, and linking to them does not imply their endorsement of Plotted.

Source articles and other outbound links point to third-party websites we don't control and aren't responsible for. Visiting them is at your own discretion and subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that event data, locations, or AI-generated summaries are accurate, complete, or up to date, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plotted will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You may stop using Plotted and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service entirely — where reasonably possible, we'll provide notice first.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Minnesota.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves, especially during the beta period described in Section 2. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
