Vietnam submits final trade agreement wording to US

On October 14, 2026, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc announced at the U.S.-Vietnam Business Summit in Hanoi that Vietnam had submitted the final wording of a trade agreement to the United States. This submission followed months of negotiations between the two countries. The agreement aims to address Washington's concerns regarding the bilateral trade imbalance, the presence of Chinese content in goods, and bureaucratic red tape.
